About Adam Long

Hey there, my name is Adam Long. That’s me in the white shirt hanging with one of the greatest guitarists alive, Guthrie Govan, in 2011 in Raleigh, NC USA.

I’ve been running this site for many years now and have really enjoyed seeing and chatting with people from all over the world who have come to learn and visit.

First, let me tell you that I love the guitar. I love music. Really I just love learning. I am a teacher by profession (believe it or not I teach Spanish to high schoolers) and no, I am not a professional musician. I am in a band and I play at my church and I’m surrounded by my favorite musicians every week… a phenomenal group of people.

At heart I’m an acoustic musician, particularly fingerstyle. I have a a flare for it. It speaks to me. But I cut my teeth on guys like Kirk Hammett and of course, Jimmy Page.

I’ve been playing guitar since I was 15 years old and as of this writing I’m approaching 40. So I have some years under my belt. But like I said before, I love to learn. And music is a lifelong learning and discovering process.

So I’ve created this site as kind of a file cabinet for my thought and hopefully a beneficial resource for you. I’ve got a lot of free lessons for you. Lots of articles and thoughts that may help you out. And I have a couple of Mastery eBooks that I’ve spent some time on that I’m really proud of that, in my view, are essential to know. I really think they’ll help you out. So check them out. If you don’t like them… just ask for you money back. I have no problem with that at all.

Below you’ll find some recordings of my playing… just to prove that I’m not a complete idiot when it comes to guitar (lol… just kidding). Take a look around. Even if you don’t check out the Mastery Series, I’d love to hear from you.
