Online Guitar Lessons
JamPlay.com
If you enjoy learning guitar online and find my lessons a bit on the academic side, JamPlay is the site you've been looking for. It is pretty much the ONLY other guitar website for learning online that I would recommend. And I've visited a lot. The guys there are great to work with, the site is pretty much what i want my site to be like and they've even started getting some really well known guys to teach (like Erik Mongrain... if you don't know who he is...find him on YouTube. The guy is crazy good.)
JamPlay.com is hitting it big in the guitar world. Their website is a membership only service which broadcasts high-definition video guitar lessons. They have brought together guitar instruction with interactivity... even allowing you to ask questions to their video instructors. They feature lots guitar instructors to give you a selection in teaching methods, which is a big plus.
They teach by "lesson set" instead of just flopping out a ton of small video clips. They start with the very basics like tuning your guitar, finger placement, and basic chords, and move on to finger-picking, palm muting, hammer ons, pull offs, and many more advanced topics as you progress through the lessons. I found this surprisingly good for the overall experience, because you can follow through these lesson sets just how you would with a normal guitar teacher. Biggest thing is, it's cheap as well because they get so many members.
Okay, so they do a much better job of explaining what they offer than I do.
So if you want to visit them here are a few links. Click any one of them to take you there.
