Fretboard Stretching Exercises: Tab
Stretching is very important if you want to increase fluidity in your movement. This in turn will increase your speed. Make sure that you warm up thoroughly before doing these. And as always, if it hurts, stop. You should stretch, not damage your tendons and muscles.
Guitar fretboard stretching exercise 1
For this exercise the pivot note (the note that stays the same) is the 12th fret with your pinky finger. As you pick, simply walk the other fingers down the fretboard until you get a good stretch.

For this exercise the pivot note (the note that stays the same) is the 5th fret with your index finger. As you pick, simply walk the other fingers up the fretboard until you get a good stretch, reaching the 12th fret.
