acoustic guitar

Welcome to The Guitar! Our goal is to offer guitarists a one stop shop where they can come to appreciate the fine art of guitar playing. Whether you want guitar lessons, guitar reviews, guitar tips or tricks, acoustic guitar lessons, electric guitar lessons or anything else, our goal is to help you find what you need.

Beginner Acoustic Guitar Lessons

In the beginner guitar lesson section you will find your basic chords, parts of the guitar and some other cool stuff like learning to read music, tuning and stringing your guitar, etc…

By the way, this site is free. But if you are looking for something a bit more structured with video, I’ve checked out pretty much all of the guitar sites out there and my recommendation is to go with GuitarTricks. Over the past decade this site has become the front runner in terms of user preference. I dig it. Just so you know though, if you sign up… they are an affiliate so they help me out for giving them a reference. But in my opinion, of the sites out there (including other affiliates) this one is the best.

Intermediate Guitar Lessons

For those of you who have some experience under your guitar strap, either Jamplay or GuitarTricks will going to be your best bet if you want to explore more advanced instruction. It’s all online and the quality is pretty outstanding. I highly recommend these affiliate sites. Good people. But I offer lessons on more intermediate guitar lessons on advanced chords like major chord families, minor chord families, 6 chords, 7 chords, 9 chords, augmented chords, diminished chords and more.

Lessons on Practicing Acoustic Guitar

guitar-practice-schedulePracticing acoustic guitar is one of the most under-appreciated aspects of playing the guitar. In this section, I give you free guitar lessons on how to correctly practice acoustic guitar. I include free guitar practice templates and lessons on how to properly approach the instrument. This includes establishing and narrowing guitar goals and logging your guitar progress. And, of course, this is another reason I like Jamplay. They provide an online progress journal that you can keep on their site.

Guitar Technique Lessons

There are so many guitar lessons on guitar technique out there. In this section, I’ve written a series of free lessons that will get you properly using acoustic guitar technique with your left hand guitar technique and right hand guitar technique. You’ll learn arpeggios, guitar slurs, and a whole bunch of other stuff. I’ve posted some guitar exercises that you can practice with too. Check out my acoustic guitar technique lessons.
